WHO NO KNOW, GO KNOW

Who no know, go know.
Say Africa sweet.
The attires of ethnicities go mesmerize you.
The way African Lady go sway her hips to Afro beat.
Go make your heart d beat.
Spirit of Africa were been show body for AWC
ON final closing ceremony show say Africa unique.
If I no fit speak English well, e no mean say I no Sabi book.
If I say I was gone to school.
Laugh me na. Is it my language?
Or I wear native
You talk say I local. sorry for you.
Because my eyes don see say
European culture now determines the way I walk or speak.
It has eaten really deep into our culture like cancer.
So I refuse that my African nature should be gagged by it.

An African anywhere is an African everywhere.
Fela bin Tok say, who no know, go know say.
Black man must die for black man.
Let's stop hitting on the past
As the cause of our present problems.
But rather redefine our footsteps.
Based on the wisdom that our walk now will determine the future.
When we use our votes well.
Wen we vote for person wer no go put him promise handcuff.
Wer no go bury him mind in gold lust.
Let's not bargain with our right.
Like in the market.
3 cups of rice at the cost of development.
Make we fight for our nation.
So that the labour of our heroes' past.
Shall never be in vain.

Africa

We were saved, we were rescued, By no other but us. We fought,  we won, What gave us strength our love , our blood. We lived for them, but now for us We toiled,  we worked. Like machines of the time, And no one thought we needed repair. We hoped, we saw,  a time with God Where there is no work Heaven was our home, our hope of the time When we return to the dust I love us, we are strong United by blood and a sane mind To build our home Africa Make it like heaven. ©Anthony Amanso
